Raffles Hotels & Resorts has an illustrious history dating back to 1887 when the world-renowned Raffles opened its doors in Singapore. Today, the remarkable collection includes twelve extraordinary properties in locations as diverse as Paris, Istanbul, and the Seychelles. Whether in a resort or a lively city, each Raffles promises an oasis of calm and charm and a compelling mix of cultures and styles. Each Raffles has its own individual personality, with its own story to tell and its own sense of place. However, all draw on the timeless essence of Raffles – to deliver thoughtful, personal and discreet service to well-travelled guests
The brand offers several signatures including the famous Long Bar and Writers Bar which originated from flagship Raffles Singapore; a bespoke Raffles 1915 Gin handcrafted by Sipsmith exclusively for Raffles Hotel & Resorts; Raffles Patisserie and Raffles Spa.
Raffles Hotels & Resorts most iconic concept is the Long Bar. Originated at Raffles Singapore, the bar in Singapore is particularly known for the famous Singapore Sling cocktail created in the bar in 1915 by Hainanese bartender Ngiam Tong Boon. Modern interpretations of the Long Bar are now found at Le Royal Monceau Raffles Paris, Raffles Istanbul and Raffles Makati. The bespoke Raffles 1915 Gin, handcrafted by independent distillers Sipsmith for Raffles, is served in cocktails at all Raffles Hotels & Resorts including the various Long Bars.
Raffles 1915 Gin by Sipsmith was created to commemorate the centennial celebration of the Singapore Sling, also a gin cocktail. In a serendipitous coincidence, the founder of Sipsmith happens to be a direct descendent of Sir Stamford Raffles for whom Raffles Singapore was named.
Raffles Hotels & Resorts continues to grow, with new openings in Warsaw, Shenzhen, Suzhou, Jeddah and Sharm El Sheikh Egypt. Growth at Raffles is a considered approach to collaboration with the right development partner and owner, for a property with the right quality, in the right location. Raffles has particular expertise in interpreting the heritage of Raffles for both new builds and for the restoration of heritage icons and as a priority, the brand looks to development opportunities in global gateway destinations such as London, New York City, Los Angeles, Hong Kong and Tokyo.
Raffles has an extensive partnership with major airlines and credit cards. In addition, many of its hotels are represented by luxury travel partners including Virtuoso Travel Network, Black Tomato, American Express Fine Hotels & Resorts and Traveller Made. Raffles Hotels & Resorts is a member of Walpole British Luxury.
