A platform accessible to all

In 2011, AccorHotels launches PLANET 21 Research, a shared knowledge platform on sustainable development in the hospitality industry that is both free and open to all.

AccorHotels will regularly enrich this platform with the results of new surveys, research or case studies of good practices, in order to improve the integration of sustainable development in the hotel industry by all players involved.

In addition, AccorHotels will make all of its methodologies available, thus ensuring that its surveys can be replicated and updated by other members of the hospitality industry. Use of these methodologies is free, on one single condition: freely publishing the results, as AccorHotels does.

Why PLANET 21 Research?

As a company committed to sustainable development with its PLANET 21 program, AccorHotels considers that it is its duty to help spread knowledge, in order to promote progress of all players in the hotel industry, both companies and customers.

Moreover, to ensure meaningful progress and face the social and environmental challenges, a sustainable hotel requires the involvement of guests, employees and other professionals of the sector. This is PLANET 21 Research's other great raison d’être: a responsible hotel cannot exist on its own. It is a collective achievement.
